My name is Colton Wagner, and bagpipes found me at nine years old, standing at the edge of a sunset at the Westin Kierland Resort, watching my grandpa play. The sound was powerful. It moved people. I remember watching strangers stop mid-conversation, turn toward the sound, and start to get emotional. I wanted to be able to do that. My grandpa taught his son how to play and eventually passed this bagpipe heritage down to me. He had me start on a practice chanter long before I ever touched a full set of pipes. My grandfather still teaches me something new every time we play together. I started playing events at around 15 years old. What began as a nine-year-old carrying a family tradition has become years of building something real: a business rooted in that same sound, but sharpened, modernized, and delivered with the kind of professionalism this instrument deserves. I started working at my grandfathers business and went to highland games with him. I got accepted in Glendale Pipes and Drums and have traveled with them out of country. My goal is simple. I want to give you the same feeling my grandpa gave me that day — a sound you will never forget. This is exactly what I’m building, one event at a time.
